Springwater Health Services Centre

Springwater Health Services Centre (35 Queen Street West, Elmvale) provides local primary care in our community. South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre provides a Nurse Practitioner every Wednesday at the clinic. Call 705-422-1888 to register as a client.

Services supported by the Community Health Centre's entire team include:

  • Support programs for pregnant women and new mothers
  • Diabetes information workshops and nutrition talks
  • Mental health and addictions counselling
  • Self-management programs for chronic pain or disease
  • Registered nurses, physiotherapists, social workers and dieticians

Lifelabs

LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services provides laboratory testing services at 35 Queen Street West in Elmvale. Specimen collection services are available to anyone with a valid laboratory requisition form. This service is offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:00 to 9:00 am. Appointments are not required.

The Healthy Babies Healthy Children program provides support and services during pregnancy and to families with children from birth to school entry. Public health nurses and family home visitors work together to provide:

  • Information, education and resources
  • Early identification and support for healthy child growth and development
  • Support for positive parenting and parent-child relationships
  • Recommendations and referrals to community resources

Public health inspectors focus on the following facilities:

  • Aesthetics and body modification (hair, nails, piercings, tattoos, etc.)
  • Licensed childcare
  • Food service
  • Pools, spas and whirlpools
  • Public beaches
  • Small drinking water systems and private well water

Inspectors also enforce the Smoke-Free Ontario Act and Electronic Cigarettes Act.
